Editor's
Choice
Editor's
Maker of
Merit

This is a children's program featuring
music playing robots and the costumed
robot "Dekasan-kun," which were also
exhibited at Maker Faire Tokyo.
The starting position of the video is
cued to the robot scene.
There are 3 videos including this one.
Maker Faire

Attempt to play together with people
from nearby booths.
I think it would be easier when
playing in an ensemble if the robot
could easily change the key, but since
the notes are distributed among three
robots, the problem is that it can't
transpose the key right away. . .
I met teachers and students from Hong
Kong.
One of teachers seem to know my
exhibition at Maker Faire Hong Kong.

Mr. Ishida and his group are creating
a giant robot called ファイバリオン that can
transform into a car.
Surprisingly, this robot seems to be
spring‐driven.
I first met Mr. Ishida at RoboGames in
2015, where he was also exhibiting a
robot that transformed into a car.
It was about the size of a
radio-controlled car.

I'm about to leave for Maker Fair
Tokyo. I drive about 500km.
My luggage is less than usual. It was
about half the amount when I went to
Anyang City, South Korea.
This month, I will be visiting 3
capital cities: Seoul, Tokyo, and
Kuala Lumpur.

Replenishing supplies in preparation
for Maker Fair Tokyo.
By using a dry battery type as mobile
battery, there is no need for it to be
inspected by the fire department.
Which one should I wear at Maker Faire
Seoul?
I got the red hoodie at an event in
Korea that I was invited to several
years ago.
This time might be a chance to wear
it.
I bought the black one in New York and
always wear during the winter.
Broadcast starts today!
The robots will serve as the
accompaniment for the singing lady.
Please also take a look at the
interaction between the robot costume
Dekasan-kun and her.
I will visit South Korea, Malaysia,
and China in October and November.

ATR Open house
Professor Ishiguro's robot called
Shosa.
Reservations are required, but there
was no one in line, so I made a
reservation on the spot and got in
right away.
Face to face with the robot, and move
my body according to the robot's
movements.
It was a method of exhibition
(experience?) that had never been seen
before, and it felt like a piece of
media art.
Next Sunday and Monday, I will be
exhibiting robots at Maker Faire
Seoul.
Monday is a public holiday in Japan,
and it is also a public holiday in
South Korea.
To make it easier to move around, I do
not carry two boxes and two suitcases
this time, instead I have one suitcase
and two backpacks.
