mapping technique.
I've come to realize that moving
something with a clear shape creates a
better impression than projecting a
landscape.
I operated spotlights on the robots's
face, and projecting texts onto the
bells.
The song is a New Year's song that
every Japanese person knows.
It's often used as background music on
TV New Year's programs."
The lyrics are about the Japanese New

プロジェクターを使用して、自動演奏のロボットにかぶせて、
プロジェクションマッピング的な手法で背景映像を投影するということをしています。
風景を投影するより、形のはっきりしたものを動かしたほうがいい感じになることが分かってきました。
ロボットの顔にあてたスポットライトを動かしたり、ベルの部分に文字を投影して動かしたりということをしています。
曲は、日本人なら誰もが知っているお正月の歌です。
一月一日は「いちげつ いちじつ」と読みます。
よくTVの正月番組でBGMに使われていますよね」。

Proposal for an octopus-shaped
takoyaki robot
I felt like there was a takoyaki
(octopus dumplings) boom going, so I
bought a takoyaki hot plate and some
ingredients and tried making some.
I thought it might be possible to do
something with my robots, as long as
it was just flipping the ball over.
After trying it myself, I found out
that it's not easy for robots.
So, I thought of an octopus-shaped
takoyaki robot. There are 8 hands, so
it can flip up to 8 balls at once.
蛸型たこ焼きロボットのご提案
どうもたこ焼きのブームが来ているような気がしたので、たこ焼き用のホットプレートと具材を買って作ってみました。
ひっくり返すとこだけなら手持ちのロボットでなんとか出来るんじゃないかと思ったんですが、
自分でやってみて、簡単ではないということが分かりました。
なので、蛸型のタコ焼きロボットを考えてみました。手が８本あるので、一度に８つまでひっくり返せます。

Music Plant is an art work in which
plants on the screen grow as music is
played.
At NT Yamashiro, I initially planed to
install the works in nature, so I was
considering an outdoor exhibition, but
it rained on and off, so I changed my
plan and installed it inside the
bungalow.
I was able to take a nice photo with
the mountain in the background.

NT山城では当初、自然の中に作品を設置したいということから、屋外展示を考えていたんだけど、雨が降ったり、やんだりだったので、
予定を変更してバンガロー内に設置しました。
ちょうど裏山をバックにしていい感じの写真が撮れました。

NT Yamashiro - Digest
Yesterday I participated in an event
called NT Yamashiro.
Events called NT are held all over
Japan, such as NT Tokyo and NT
Kanazawa.
Unlike maker fairs, NT events do not
have screening for exhibitors.
Yamashiro is located in the northern
part of Kyoto Prefecture, about 20
minutes from the Maker Fair Kyoto
venue.
The event was held at a campsite and
bungalow in the mountains.
Some people displayed their homemade
camping equipment and prepared camp
meals to serve to the participants.
At night, we enjoyed flaming guitars
and glowing lemonade.
山城は京都府の北部の地域で、メイカーフェア京都の会場から２０分くらいの場所です。
山の中にあるキャンプ場とバンガローを使用して開催されました。
自作のキャンプ道具を展示したり、キャンプ用の食事を作っって参加者にふるまったりする人がいました。
夜は、炎のギターや光るレモネードなどを楽しみました。

Canon in D
Canon in D - Projection & Lighting
This is an experiment using a
projection mapping method.
In addition to shining a circle light
on the robot's face, stars are
projected onto the bells that the
robots play.
I tried projecting them without making
detailed alignment to see how it would
look.
Next time, I would like to adjust the
position, rotate the projected stars,
and gradually change their colors.
プロジェクションマッピング的な投影手法の実験です。
ロボットの顔の部分に丸くライトをあてる他に、ロボットが演奏するベルに星を投影しています。
とりあえず、どんな感じになるかを見るために細かな位置合わせわせずに投影してみました。
次からは、位置合わせをして、投影した星を回転させたり、徐々に色を変えたりとかしてみたいと思います。

chicken on Christmas Eve in Japan.
This is due to the fact that Kentucky
Fried Chicken aired a television
commercial that suggests many families
eat fried chicken on Christmas Eve in
Europe and America.

Ise Geek Fair 2023
The exhibition was very short, only 3
hours.
The venue is very close to Ise Grand
Shrine.
I brought a guitar-type MIDI
controller in addition to an
electronic piano, but the sound was
small.
Maybe I should bring an amp with me
next time.
Either using the guitar and the
electronic piano needs switching, it
might be better to keep both connected
at all times.

会場は伊勢神宮のすぐ近く。
電子ピアノに加えてギター型のMIDIコントローラーをもっていきましたが、音が小さかったので
次回からアンプを持って行ったほうがいいかも。
ギターと電子ピアノのどちらか一方に切り替えて使用するようにしたけど、手間なので両方を常時接続しておいたほうがいい。

I thought there might be some visitors
who can't play the keyboard but can
play the guitar.
I pulled out of storage a
guitar-shaped midi controller that I
bought about 20 years ago.
The fingerboard lights up, similar to
a light navigation piano.
明日は伊勢神宮のすぐ近くのシンフォニーホールで展示です。
キーボードは弾けないけど、ギターは弾けるという来場者がいるかもしれないと思い、20年ぐらい前に買ったギター型のmidiコントローラーを倉庫からひっぱりだしてきました。
光るピアノと同じような感じで指板が光ります。

I set it up in a dark room and use a
projector to project the background
and shoot a video.
The LED lights are bright, but the
area around the robot's face is dark,
giving it a slightly creepy feel.
I thought about using a spotlight, but
the light would get in the way of the
shot.
I experimented with using a projection
mapping technique to brighten the area
around the robot's face using a
projector.
It seems like it would be possible to
not only brighten the surrounding
area, but also make it like emitting
lights, or make the image ripple in
accordance with the robot's movements.
暗室にして、プロジェクタで背景を投影して動画を撮影するということをしている。
LEDがはえるけど、ロボットの顔の周辺が暗くなってしまい、少し不気味な感じになる。
スポットライトを当てることを考えたが、ライトを置くと撮影の邪魔になってしまう。
プロジェクションマッピング的な手法で、プロジェクタを使用してロボットの顔の周辺を明るくする実験をしてみた。
周辺を明るくするだけでなく、光が噴き出すようにしたり、ロボットの動きにあわせて映像を波打たせたりとか、できそう。

The other day, I took a day trip to
Nagoya and had a preview of the
location where I will have an
exhibition in February.
On the way home, I stopped by a
gallery called Jill D' Art.
Mobile made of brass was on display.
In addition to the work itself, its
shadow was impressive.
I've been thinking about how to apply
light recently, so this was helpful.

メイカーフェアの謎のパスポート
I found an unknown passport from the
maker fair while sorting things out.
I don't remember where I got it.
The publisher is not clearly written,
but the last page says "makerfare.com".
I think I got it at a directly managed
event in New York or the Bay Area. . .
It seems like this book is for people
who are collecting stamps, but I don't
think there are any maker fairs that
provide stamps.
I am not sure but there is something
like a stamp book that you could
collect by visiting FabLabs around the
world.

どこでもらったか覚えていません。

ChatGPTを使用したものが幾つかみまれました。
複数のトレイがついたデリバリーロボットをたくさん見ました。
ドローンの展示が少なくなっていました。
川崎重工はステージをやめたみたいです。
（お台場にショールームができているみたいなので、そのせいか？）
ＨＡＬのようなパワードスーツも見かけなくなりました。（ホール４、５、６は端折ったので、そこにあったのかも。）
ロボットハンドの展示も減少？
デジタルサイネージ的なものがちらほら？
水中ロボットと黒ひげ救出ロボットを見逃しました。
※変なものの展示が減った気がする。「これは！」って思ったものはだいたい大学か高専の展示でした。
